Members of the NIKE Solutions Delivery Team in Portland, Oregon, as part of their strategic planning session, kicked-off the year with a philanthropic team building event where they build 4 bikes for 4 deserving children.  They donated the bikes to the Boys and Girls club of Portland.

One important aspect of the event was the focus having fun and behaving outside the box. Often times when departments are separated by location and divided into division, or, as in the case of NIKE, in the process of creating a new division, a group looks for what’s familiar, what they know to work well and systems they feel comfortable with. The challenge with that, is that when the do what they’ve always done, they will tend to get the same results that they’ve gotten.  When a team has decided to go for unprecedented results they have to act and think differently. They have to increase their fluidity to work cross functionally. This teambuilding event challenged NIKE to uptheir game, get even more creative and think out side the box as a team.

NIKE reported an increase in trust, humor, and a new understanding of how to leverage their team. Congratulations to NIKE for sponsoring the teambuilding event and giving your people an opportunity to have fun while growing in buycbdproducts leadership and team building skills. And for the special opportunity of giving back to the community by donating 4 bicycles to children and families that can really use and will really appreciate them.
