“The Finite and Infinite Games of Leadership”
In grad school one of my top 5 favorite books was called “Finite and Infinite Games” by James P. Carse. In his book he said, “A finite game is played for the purpose of winning, an infinite game for the purpose of continuing the play. If a finite game is to be won by someone, it must come to a definite end. It will come to an end when someone has won.” Simon Sinek, has reinvigorated this work based on Game Theory. In the following video he discusses the importance of changing our game. Which game is your organization playing? A finite game of winners and losers or an infinite game of play and possibility? Please watch and pass it on. Let’s build a collaboration movement!
